Reuters is reporting that Qantas Airways is planning to cut fares and launch an advertising blitz to win back passengers after an employee strike caused international travel chaos and left almost 70,000 travelers stranded.
The airline's flights returned to normal on Tuesday for the first time since it grounded its global fleet last weekend in what the story described as "a deliberate tactic to gain the upper hand over trade unions in a long-running and costly labour dispute."
The article goes on to say that the strike and grounding of planes "hurt the Qantas brand" and left many passengers vowing to avoid the airline in future.
On its website, the airline said that it would "do everything we can to support our customers impacted by this disruption. We are evaluating each situation on a case-by-case basis and will look to provide maximum flexibility to our customers, where ever possible."
