Slope-bound travelers looking to ski like the big shots can turn to Austria’s Arlberg region, which reaches 9,000 feet above sea level at its peak. Home to the ski towns of Lech-Zürs and St. Anton, the Arlberg region sets the standard for Alpine skiing, and is a hot spot for Europe’s elite.
St. Anton
Das Mooser Hotel: When visiting St. Anton, we suggest a stay at the four-star Das Mooser. The 17-room property has ski-in, ski-out facilities, along with a spa and infinity pool.
The hotel is right next to the Galzig valley and has impressive views of the Alpine slopes.

Hotel Tannenhof: The former three-star Tannenhof has recently attained five-star status. The property is home to seven spacious suites that range in size from 807 square feet to 2,175 square feet. Each suite has a living room, open fireplace and balcony with views of the Tyrolean mountains.

Valluga Hotel: Originally built in 1938, Valluga has recently been taken over by new owners who have converted the property into a four-star hotel. The interior of the old building has been completely renovated. The second construction phase of the hotel is set to take place this year and will involve the construction of spa facilities and a pool.

Each room comes equipped with a CD and DVD player, a flat-screen TV, an iPod docking station, Wi-Fi and more. The largest rooms available are the 645-square-foot Large Suites. These rooms have two bedrooms, a balcony and two bathrooms and can accommodate four adults and two children.
Try and book your clients a trip to St. Anton at the end of April so that they can attend “The White Thrill.” This cult ski race involves a mass start of approximately 500 participants, a 9 km run and a final obstacle that awaits down in the valley. Lech-Zürs
Epicureans will love the village of Lech-Zürs, which was nominated as a “World Gourmet Village” by Falstaff, the Austrian gourmet guide, in 2008.
Aurelio Lech: When staying in Lech-Zürs, we recommend luxury boutique hotel Aurelio Lech. The hotel has 19 individually designed rooms and suites, each with balconies with mountain views. The largest accommodation is the Club Master Suite, which measures at 2,153 square feet. More modest accommodations are the eight Top Deluxe Rooms, which are 560 square feet.

Getting There
The Arlberg is just a few hours’ drive away from major hubs like Zurich, Munich and Innsbruck. There is also scheduled bus service between Zurich airport and Arlberg on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
