Singapore Wins Skytrax Airline of the Year

Singapore Airlines has been voted airline of the year in what Edward Plaisted, CEO of the survey organization, Skytrax, said is the "longest running and largest passenger survey ever." "We received over 14 million eligible nominations around the world during the 11 month survey," he said. Thai Airways came in second, followed by Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways and new entrant Qantas. The survey did not measure U.S.-based carriers. For other categories and winners, visit [www.worldairlineawards.com].
