bahamas junkanoo carnivalThe first Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival is a collage of Bahamian culture happening May 7-9. The festive celebration lets Bahamians and guests from around the world immerse themselves in all things Bahamian: cuisine, arts, craft, Junkanoo and Rake and Scrape music.

It will be a weekend of non-stop activity filled with all-star concerts, cultural shows, street parades and Junkanoo parties.

Tickets for Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival events are officially on sale online, with the Bahamas National Festival Commission confirming successful initial purchases and a smooth transaction process.

Information on the different events and prices are available on the Bahamasjunkanoocarnival.com website, which also outlines the different events for the public.

Ticket prices range from $30 a day to a $50 weekend pass for entrance into "Da Cultural Village" in Grand Bahama and from $15 a day to $40 for a weekend pass to Da Cultural Village in Nassau. The Music Masters concert tickets in Nassau start at $50 for general admission, $75 for preferred seating and $125 for reserved seating. The Music Masters semi-final events are included in the admission price for Da Cultural Village in Grand Bahama.

The Music Masters concerts are the premiere musical events for the Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival where 19 top contemporary artists in the Bahamas will compete live in front of thousands for a chance to be crowned Master of the Bahamian Sound.

There will be two semi-final competitions back-to-back in Grand Bahama on April 17 when 10 artists will perform and April 18 when the remaining 9 artists will perform. The top 10 finalists chosen will return to the stage in New Providence at the final competition on May 8. The finalists will share the stage with a Grammy-Award winning artist, gaining international exposure via the event.

Set against the backdrop of the iconic Nassau harbor and Junkanoo Beach, the festival village, with its multiple stages, art pavilion and native food court, embodies the soul of the Bahamian people.
