Brussels Airlines Launches Direct Flights Between Washington and Brussels

After the successful launch of a daily service to New York in 2012, Brussels Airlines is launching a second trans-Atlantic flight with service from Washington Dulles International Airport to Brussels. There is a big market demand for flights between the American and the European capital, with Washington being the third most important intercontinental flight destination in the Belgian market in terms of passenger numbers.

As the European capital, Brussels is the political center of the EU. The European Commission, the European council and the European parliament have their headquarters in Brussels, together with other international institutions like NATO and hundreds of multinationals. But Brussels has much more to offer besides business. The city is also a tourist hotspot and an ideal starting point to explore Belgian art cities likes Antwerp, Bruges, Ghentand Liège. Thanks to its central location, travel to neighboring countries France, the Netherlands, Germany and UK is simple.

Brussels Airlines will operate five flights per week to Washington with Airbus A330 aircraft. The new Brussels Airlines product includes full flat beds in Business Class, ergonomic seats in Economy Class and new in-flight entertainment in both classes.

Thanks to an evening departure from Washington Dulles, passengers will arrive in Brussels in the late morning. Immediately after landing, timely connections are possible to other European cities like Berlin, Copenhagen, Madrid, Milan, Hamburg, Nice and Toulouse, as well as connections with the African network to Abidjan, Cotonou, Yaounde and Lomé.

Thanks to the cooperation between Brussels Airlines and United, Washington will be connected to Brussels 12 times per week as of June 18. Passengers can combine both flights, allowing increased departure flexibility and more connection possibilities.

To make this new trans-Atlantic service possible, Brussels Airlines will add an additional Airbus A330 to its long haul fleet.
