The Travel Institute Launches Free Training Program

travel agentThe Travel Institute reports the launch of its new month-long promotion, “Preparing for a Travel Career,” kicking off with a webinar, “Getting Started … Preparing for a Career in Travel” on February 4.

Free to all participants, the February campaign will help individuals who are considering a future in travel gain insight into the industry and to help newcomers make the most of their careers, the Travel Institute says.

Career-focused activities planned in February include: a series of four webinars, weekly ebooks, and twice-weekly themed communications of The Travel Institute’s Hot Tip Tuesday newsletter and Friday Five blog posts.

For the last year or so, the monthly ‘New to the Industry’ webinars have often been sold out, attracting more than 100 participants in a session, the Institute says.

Preparing for a Travel Career is totally free of charge and open to everyone in the industry. And, except for the Friday Five blog post, membership in The Travel Institute or certification/designations from the organization is not required to participate.

The webinars range in length from approximately 30 minutes to one hour. Advanced registration is required and space is limited to the first 100 attendees. Travel Institute members will have free access to the archived sessions. The schedule is as follows:

    •    February 4, 1 p.m. EST – “Getting Started … Preparing for a Career in Travel” with Patty Noonan.
    •    February 10, 1 p.m. EST – “Become the Exception” with Mike Marchev.
    •    February 20, 1 p.m. EST – “Facing the New World of Competition in the Travel Business” with Carol Parsons
    •    February 23, Noon EST – “Can I Be Balanced, Successful and Home-Based?” with Mary Pat Sullivan and Joanie Ogg.

Other activities during the promotion include:

Ebooks: Each week, a 10- to 20-page ebook with career-related tips, articles, and blogs will be emailed to all Hot Tip Tuesday subscribers.

Expert advice: As part of its ongoing communications, professionals can sign up for the weekly Hot Tip Tuesday enewsletter written by industry and business experts.
