Sea Island Company has announced the appointment of James (Jim) F. Brown as president and chief operating officer of Sea Island Resorts. Brown will oversee all operations of the recently rebuilt Cloister Hotel as well as The Lodge at Sea Island and will report directly to Bill Jones III, fourth generation chairman and chief executive officer of Sea Island Company. Prior to joining Sea Island, Brown was president of his own consulting company, Brownstone Hotels and Resorts. Before that, he served as president and CEO of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts for six years, preceded by 23 years with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. Over time, Jim has been responsible for the management, opening, and operations of more than 65 hotels in 15 countries, of which 45 properties received a 5-star rating under his direction.
