Onsite: CTO, CHA Launch Company to Protect Caribbean Brand

Aruba–At an early morning press conference to kick off the final day of the 28th annual Caribbean Marketplace, the Caribbean Tourism Organization and the Caribbean Hotel Association announced the launch of the Caribbean Tourism Development Company. CTDC, a private, for-profit entity registered in the Cayman Islands with headquarters in New York, is designed to generate marketing to support the promotion of the region. The new company is jointly owned and operated by CTO and CHA and each organization will have a 50-percent share in the company. This is not however, a merger between the two organizations. The goals of the new company include promotion and protection of the Caribbean brand and to generate revenues for the benefit of the Caribbean people.
