Puerto Rico’s Latest Casino

Casino Del Mar officially opened its doors a few weeks ago at La Concha Resort on Ashford Avenue in the Condado section of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The casino, which will be open 24/7, offers 19 table games and 410 slot machines, as well as a VIP high-limit slot parlor with a private cage window and an honor bar stocked with wine, champagne and hors d’oeuvres.
It is expected that the casino’s clients will be 40 percent locals and 60 percent tourists, a first for a casino in Puerto Rico. With a total investment of $18 million, the 15,000-square-foot gambling space will create 160 direct jobs and hundreds of other indirect job opportunities. The total construction cost of La Concha Resort’s project is an estimated $220 million.
