NEW YORK CITY, New York -- Travel Agent met with Harry Dalgaard, president of Avanti Destinations, Thursday and learned that the company recently hired industry veteran John Hanratty to the position of chief marketing officer.
Avanti Destinations is a travel wholesaler for independent travelers to Europe and Latin America.
"I'm loving every day of this new position," says Hanratty. "This is really my sweet spot."
A former executive vice president and general manager of Travel Impressions, Hanratty left that position in October of 2013 to join The Mark Travel Corporation, where he headed up a newly formed groups division. He retired from the industry in November of this year only to join Avanti recently.
"It was a five-minute retirement," joked Dalgaard, who told us Hanratty will be responsible for sales and marketing strategies at Avanti.
