Banyan Tree to Manage Three New China Hotels

Banyan Tree Holdings will manage three hotels opening in China in 2008 and 2009. Scheduled to open next year is the Angsana Beijing, in the new Yan Sha diplomatic zone of the city. It will be Banyan Tree's first Angsana city hotel. The boutique property will have about 80 rooms and will be part of the Solana International Lifestyle Shopping Center, a mixed-use project also comprising high-end retail and entertainment venues. Banyan Tree also will design and manage the all-suite Banyan Tree Beijing, which is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2009. The hotel will be within walking distance of the Forbidden City and will front bustling Wang Fu Jing Road; it also will include serviced apartments. Meanwhile, slated to open early in 2009 is the Banyan Tree Hangzhou, which will be part of an integrated complex to include a conference center, a residential community and retail and entertainment. Banyan Tree also has plans in progress for additional resorts in China. It already has three hotels in operation in Yunnan, and nine more properties in the development pipeline.
