Shangri-La Signs On to Chongqing Property

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has just agreed to manage a hotel in Chongqing, China, is scheduled to open in late 2011.

The new hotel will consist of 469 rooms on the first 28 floors of a new 58-story building, which will also house office space and retail outlets.

All guest rooms will offer city views and those on higher floors will feature views of the river. The hotel will also have a Horizon Club executive lounge.

Dining options will include a Chinese restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a lobby lounge and an all-day dining center. Guests also have access to a spa and health club, pool, lounge, salon and entertainment center.

Function space will include a ballroom and 10 meeting rooms, which can cater to different event requirements.
