Hyatt House New York/Chelsea Set to Open Fall 2016

Lexin Capital and Real Hospitality Group recently announced the fall opening of the Hyatt House New York/Chelsea. The 30-story, 150-room, extended stay hotel will be situated at the center of Chelsea’s historic Flower District, offering guests views of the skyline from floor-to-ceiling windows, lofty guestrooms and apartment-style kitchen suites.

The property will be within walking distance of the Fashion Institute of Technology, Macy’s flagship store, Madison Square Garden, the Empire State Building, Times Square, Bryant Park, Chelsea Market, High Line Park, the theater district and numerous Chelsea art galleries and restaurants.

The entirely new building is being designed by Nobutaka Ashihara Architect PC, whose previous projects included Hotel 48LEX and Courtyard New York Manhattan/Central Park. Guestrooms, averaging approximately 340 square feet, will have expansive bathrooms with glass walk-in showers, complete with KennetMD bath products. Most rooms will also have plush couches, flat panel TVs and workspaces. Seventy-four of the rooms will be furnished with kitchenettes containing stainless steel appliances, though all rooms come complete with a refrigerator and microwave oven. For extended stay guests, 60 connecting units are available for families and groups, as well as access to communal washer and dryers.

Within the hotel’s lobby will be a dedicated House Host to welcome guests and expedite arrivals. Also on the ground floor will be 2Beans, a high-end chocolate and espresso shop. On the hotel’s second floor with be the H BAR, offering complimentary morning spreads like an omelet bar, waffle station, fresh fruit and oatmeal. During the evenings, H BAR serves creative cocktails, beers and wines from their Sip+Savor menu, complete with home-cooking inspired comforts. The 24-hour H MARKET on the ground floor provides guests with everyday items including groceries, salads, snacks and “ready meals.”

On the top floor of the building guests will find an indoor, rooftop fitness center and outdoor recreational area with gym equipment from Life Fitness, offering workout views such as the Chrysler Building, One World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty.
