New Yorker Hotel Renovation Underway

September 12, 2007 By: Dan Butcher Travel Agent

The New Yorker Hotel in Midtown Manhattan has completed three floors of its $65 million remodeling project, featuring 80 new rooms that guests already are stepping into. The New Yorker currently has 860 hotel rooms; by the time the renovation is complete in August 2008, the hotel will have 910 guest rooms, all restyled and remodeled, located on the top 21 floors of the building. (The first 18 floors are dedicated to commercial tenants.) At this point, guest rooms on floors 31 to 35 are currently being renovated. Afterwards, the next 100 rooms will be renovated following the process of continuing from the top of the building down to the 19th floor so as not to disturb guests staying in the hotel. Visit [].
