Travel Leaders Picks Jerusalem for 2010 SummitMarch 16, 2010 By: George Dooley
Travel Leaders’ 11th Annual International Summit will be held in Jerusalem from April 23-25 at the five-star David Citadel, one of Jerusalem’s newest luxury hotels. The summit is one of the agency franchiser's top networking events of the year.
“Each year, we proudly feature a world-class city, and by adding Jerusalem to our storied list, we’re enabling Travel Leaders Associates to return home and provide their enhanced destination expertise to their clients,” noted Roger E. Block, president of Travel Leaders Franchise Group, noting that this is the second time in the 11-year history of Travel Leaders’ International Summit that a prime Middle East destination has been selected.
“Having given birth to three of the world’s major faiths and a unique culture unlike any other, Jerusalem ranks as one of the greatest cities on earth without equal,” stated Barry Liben, Travel Leaders Group CEO.
In addition to the actual business meeting portion of the International Summit, participating Travel Leaders Associates will experience numerous special events. “Since the size of our group is relatively small, we are able to experience tours and venues that would sometimes not be possible with a larger group and we have some memorable experiences as a result,” noted Roswell, GA-based Travel Leaders Associate Tim Kennedy. “In addition to each host city always doing its best to impress our group, I have found each summit to be a great opportunity to meet other Associates and suppliers with national responsibility. Being able to spend quality time outside a formal meeting environment with Associates and suppliers is invaluable, and it’s helped me to build long-term relationships.”
Registration for the International Summit is $395 per person, based on double occupancy. In addition to the Israel Ministry of Tourism, which is hosting the 2010 Travel Leaders International Summit, other sponsors include Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Pleasant Holidays and Travelport.
Previous Travel Leaders International Summits have been held in London (2000), Hong Kong (2001), Paris (2002), Barcelona (2003), Budapest (2004), Dublin (2005), Rome (2006), Dubai (2007), Berlin (2008) and Santiago (2009).
