Liberty Travel and AARP Partner

handshakeThe value of travel agents got a major boost as Liberty Travel, one of nation's largest, 60-year old travel agencies, and AARP announced a new travel relationship with Liberty offering expertise, discounts and exclusive benefits to AARP members.

The newly formed relationship, which will officially launch on January 15, 2014, represents a opportunity with an offline travel agency that offers consultative services, Liberty said.

AARP is a nonprofit organization, with a membership of more than 37 million.

“We believe in people doing business with people and that human connections make for a better booking and travel experience. Our consultants will work with AARP members to enhance their vacation experience,” Liberty Travel president Emma Jupp said.

“We know that travel is the top aspiration for people 50-plus.  Our new relationship with Liberty Travel is another way AARP is helping its members achieve their travel goals and dreams,” said Angela Jones, senior vice president business development and lifestyle, AARP Services, Inc.

“Through Liberty Travel, AARP members will be able to develop and customize their travel arrangements with best in class travel agents while stretching their travel dollars even further," Jones said.

Liberty Travel has over 900 travel consultants that are available to assist AARP members with their travel needs, Liberty said. Liberty Travel consultants will work with members to help them find the best vacation for them and save time and money in the process.

AARP members will enjoy exclusive travel savings and lower deposit requirements on the extensive product range of vacation packages that Liberty Travel offers, Liberty said. AARP members can save up to $100 for two travelers on Liberty Travel Vacation Packages.

“Our relationships with our travel suppliers allow us to provide AARP members with a comprehensive product range and competitive pricing,” said Jupp. AARP previously only had an online travel partnership.

“Relationships are critical to what we do, and being in business for over six decades has afforded us the luxury of making solid, often life-long, connections. Our wide range of strategic travel suppliers have proven track records in providing an exceptional travel experience for our clients. An exceptional travel experience at the best value is what AARP Members should expect from a Liberty Travel vacation,” Jupp said.

The Liberty Travel and AARP relationship provides an end-to-end travel solution from planning, booking and experiencing the trip itself, Liberty notes. AARP members will also have access to Liberty Travel’s 24/7 customer support, staffed by actual employees of the brand and never outsourced, Liberty said.
