To help travel agents navigate their way through the world of social media, Expedia CruiseShipCenters is offering free webinars and sales tips that apply to their businesses.
The tips are part of CruiseShipCenters marketing program and include top ten sales recommendations. Number ten is "Get Socialized How to Build Relationships with Social Media."
"People love to do business with those they know, like and trust," says Pat Heathfield, sales manager, stressing the importance of building a strong customer base.
The tips include:
1). Know Your Audience - Be aware of what you're posting and be sure to keep your messages friendly, positive and professional to all audiences. Post interesting questions, comments and experiences to engage your followers.
2). Provide Value - Promote your services in a way that is valuable to your clients. It's great to promote sales that are happening in your office, but to keep your clients intrigued and involved, mix it up. Share interesting and relevant content through stories, photos, and videos on a regular basis.
3). Keep an Eye on Comments - Interaction is key to using social media. Remember that it's a two way medium – your friends can comment, so be sure to reply back as it could result in a sale.
4). Integrate Other Marketing - Continue using other forms of marketing to reach your clients offline. Remember that even for the web savviest of clients, it is the personal phone call and hand-written thank you note from their travel agent that keeps them coming back again and again.
