Travel Leaders Group Reacts to AA/Sabre Crisis

January 5, 2011 By: George Dooley

Travel Leaders Group reacted to the expanding American Airlines/Sabre dispute with a statement focused on the importance of comparative fare information to travel agents and consumers.

“Travel Leaders Group’s overriding concern remains our agencies and agents’ ability to access all airfares via their GDS on behalf of corporate and leisure travelers alike. Unfortunately, travel agents using Sabre are currently caught squarely in the middle of a fight not of their own choosing. This escalation is to the detriment of consumers who depend upon travel agents they trust to provide the best comparative fare information. It is absolutely critical to consumers that consumers continue to have unimpeded fare information no matter the channel through which they choose to book travel.”
