Travel Leaders of Tomorrow “Module Two” Begins

travel agentThe first official class of Travel Leaders of Tomorrow students has now progressed from “Module One” to “Module Two,” Travel Leaders Group reports. Travel Leaders of Tomorrow has also welcomed its second class of prospective travel agents into “Module One.”

Travel Leaders Group also reports that over 100 travel agency owners currently under its umbrella have now volunteered to mentor program participants. Participants have the potential for being placed into Travel Leaders Group agencies upon successful completion of the virtual training offered through Travel Leaders of Tomorrow, the group says.

“The response from individuals considering a career in travel, not to mention from established agencies seeking new talent, has exceeded our expectations,” noted Heather Kindred, program director for Travel Leaders of Tomorrow. “With our first class now progressing to ‘Module Two’ of our virtual training, we are encouraged by their continued enthusiasm and spirit. That has translated into positive word-of-mouth as we increase Travel Leaders of Tomorrow’s reach.”

According to Kindred, “Module One” centers on exploring the world of travel. “Because our overarching efforts hinge on attracting new individuals into our industry, we use ‘Module One’ to offer a welcome to the travel industry,” Kindred explained. “This introduction to the travel industry encompasses geography, travel technology and steps used to qualify clients – the very basics of what true travel professionals must understand in order to succeed.”

Kindred noted that once students satisfactorily complete “Module One,” they are then able to begin “Module Two,” which serves as the first of three modules focusing on the product being sold by travel agents.

“Because the best travel agents provide their clients with a holistic approach, we want our Travel Leaders of Tomorrow to gain a thorough understanding of each individual element,” Kindred stated. “Thus, ‘Module Two’ is devoted to learning about each of the major components most travel agents sell: air, hotel, cruises, car rentals, rail and the ever-important travel insurance.”

Kindred also praised travel agents affiliated with Travel Leaders Group – including from Cruise Holidays, Luxury Travel Network, Nexion, Results! Travel, Travel Leaders, Tzell and Vacation.com – both for proactively encouraging individuals to register for Travel Leaders of Tomorrow and for volunteering to mentor program participants.

The first training module was initially offered in April. "The goal of Travel Leaders of Tomorrow is to attract and train new talent into the flourishing travel industry, as well as to place qualified participants into an increasing number of travel agencies now needing knowledgeable and skilled travel agent professionals," the group says.

“The support from our organization and the suppliers has been incredible,” Kindred added. “Couple this with an amazing group of participants that continually exceed my expectations is a powerful combination. They are self-motivated, hardworking, ask great questions, and bring with them a level of professionalism this industry will embrace.”
