Carnival Returning to Mediterranean in 2008

Following strong demand for the Carnival Freedom's Mediterranean/Greek Isles spring itinerary, Carnival on Tuesday said that the 110,000-ton liner will return to the region for another season of 12-day voyages in 2008. The 2,974-passenger Carnival Freedom, now nearing its finals stages of construction in Italy, is slated to debut Mar. 5 in Europe and its 2008 European cruise season will kick off May 10 and run through Oct. 25 with 12-day Mediterranean cruises. The cruises will feature eight different ports: Naples, Livorno and Rome, Italy; Rhodes, Greece; Izmir and Istanbul in Turkey; Athens and Katakolon, Greece.
