Carnival Splendor Gets Floated Out

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the 113,000-ton Carnival Splendor had its float out over the weekend from its drydock facility. The ship is scheduled to enter service as Carnival Cruise Lines' next Fun Ship next July. The 3,006-passenger ship will introduce Carnival's first 12-day Northern European program, followed by a series of 12-day Mediterranean departures through Oct. 17, 2008. Splendor will also operate three South America departures in 2009 of varying lengths. Visit [www.carnival.com] for more information.
