Cruise Planners Courts Same-Sex Couples With 'Sea of Love' Cruise

norwegian getawayCruise Planners - American Express Travel has announced their Sea of Love cruise, the first of its kind for the company: a one-time only seven-night Caribbean cruise packaged with a group destination ceremony in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, devoted to same-sex couples.

Taking place September 27, 2014, through October 4, 2014, aboard the brand-new Norwegian Getaway, the Sea of Love cruise includes exclusive onboard events, plus the planning and coordination of commitment ceremonies.

While this is not the first time the company has supported the LGBT community, Cruise Planners notes it is a member of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association.

According to CEO and Co-founder Michelle Fee: “We’ve been offering same-sex commitment ceremony and wedding packages since the launch of our weddings program last year."

The Sea of Love cruise sets sail on Norwegian Getaway to the Eastern Caribbean on September 27, with stops in St. Maarten and Nassau, and the commitment ceremony will take place on the sands of St. Thomas on October 1. Sea of Love cruisers and their guests will enjoy exclusive parties and events, in addition to the signature ship features such as the largest Aqua Park at sea and three-story Sports Complex, Ocean Blue restaurant by Food Network chef Geoffrey Zakarian and “Legally Blonde: The Musical".

Cruise Planners says it will handle all travel arrangements, while the company’s destination commitment ceremony event managers take care of all the necessary planning and preparation for both the commitment and post-celebration ceremonies.

Cruise Planners says rates for the Sea of Love cruise start at $2,599 per couple and $1,039 per guest and include cruise fare roundtrip from Miami, beachfront ceremony and celebration along with special onboard activities for the couples and their guests.
