ASTA is reporting that Cruise Value Center (CVC) in East Brunswick, NJ, has closed down. Formerly owned by Jeff Kivet, CVC earned a reputation as a well-managed and aggressive promoter of cruise and tour sales. Reportedly, CVC closed Monday, November 10 after 14 years in business. It was sold to Travel Holding Equity, Bloomfield, MI, last year. Sales volume is estimated at $70 million-plus. At stake are employees' jobs, supplier payments and a network of independent agents. At press time, the company’s website was open but not fully functioning.

This company Cruise Value Center was a ripoff. I worked for this company about for seven months. One day I came in late because my baby cousin had died and the owner Jeff K. pulled me into his office and said that if I were to come in late again that he would make sure that I would never work in the state of NJ ever again. When I left they laughed at and called me a stupid pollack that I was leaving the best business in NJ. Now I have a $70000.00 a year job. Who is laughing at who now? I am glad that they went out of business. What goes around comes around. This company treated workers like dogs. You were always talked down to. So Jeff you can take this message and shove it up your candy *ss!
Dear: "the truth" You should know who you are talking about before you say something!!!! i worked for Ross Spalding when the internet department began to thrive!!! Ross helped the company to expand!!! He was always fare in all his business practices!! He, nor anyone else at cruise value center ever intentionally hurt the end consumer! He enjoyed helping people with ther vacations! You should be ashamed of your words!!! You dont even know the man! He an Jeff were both amazing people, and wonderful to work for!!!!! Who are you anyway?? If what your saying is "the truth" then why can't you even say who you are?
Donna, I don't know what the rules of this site are but you can email me at David@crowncruisevacations.com Then I can give you my toll free number
Dave, How do I get in touch with you?
Donna, This is David Hauser - Glad to help you with any cruise reservations
I am looking Dave Hauser, for one of the former agents so that we can continue with his services. Doe anyone know where to find him? Always did a great job for us on the multiple cruises he booked for us.
The Smith Brothers and Ross Spalding are the only people responsible for the failure of CVC. All 3 of them should go to jail!
Beware...Any time you are offered a cruise price much lower than the cruise line advertised price ( not brochure price). ALWAYS check that you have a confirmation from the cruise line showing your deposit or final payment.
I was supposed to get a rebate check for $800 from a trip taken in July. I called every week and never got the check. Sherrie said this was due to the processing done in MI. I have used this company for 7 years with wonderful service and saved thousands. I never had bait and switch. Just too sad! How do I pursue this?
Keep kidding yourself Marilyn. Your old boss is a crook and embezzled the money when the Smiths couldn't pay for the Company. They took majority ownership of CVC with no cash down, and the cash was controlled in NJ. Stay tuned - the story will all come out soon enough.
