Empress of the North Heads To Ketchikan For Repairs

The cruise ship that ran aground on May 7 off Juneau, Alaska, is now headed to Ketchikan for repairs. Earlier this month, Majestic America Line's 360-foot Empress of the North crashed into a rock, ripping several holes in the ship's hull. All 206 passengers and 75 crewmembers were evacuated and no injuries were reported. The National Transportation Safety Board and Coast Guard are currently investigating the accident. Company officials said they do not know when the ship will be back in service.
