Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic Announce 2016 Cruise Destinations

The National Geographic Orion, sailed by Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic, will set sail for Europe in 2016. The ship, following the Antarctic season, will spend spring, summer and fall of 2016 touring Europe on 22 one-week journeys. However, the itineraries have been designed to allow guests the option to go on consecutive cruises to create a longer trip.

Portugal, Spain, France, England, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, the Baltic Republics and Scandinavia will be visited during the 2016 itinerary. And, holding true to National Geographic’s reputation, all trips will be educational. Guests will learn about a destination’s history, art scene, political importance and local music.

Talks led by top journalists, scientists and world affairs experts will provide guests will relative information about the destinations, and a National Geographic photographer will also be onboard. Passengers will also have the option to participate in active experiences like hiking, biking and kayaking.

The ship will keep the education experience going throughout the trip by serving passengers locally inspired cuisine. Australian chef Serge Dansereau will create meals served onboard, using each destination to help inspire the dishes.

The National Geographic Orion has a library, observation lounge and theatre to entertain guests while sailing. The ship can accommodate 102 passengers.
