MSC Cruises Deploying Ship to U.S. For Caribbean Cruises

March 13, 2007 By: David Eisen Travel Agent

MSC Cruises will operate a seven-night Caribbean itinerary aboard one of its new Panamax ships during the 2009 winter season, the line's president and CEO, Richard Sasso, announced at the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention Tuesday. One of the line's 89,600-ton Musica-class ships, either Orchestra or Peosia (MSC did not disclose which one), will arrive in Fort Lauderdale on Jan. 2, 2009, for the new sailings. Sasso said that a Musica-class ship is ideally suited for seven-night variety Caribbean cruises. Sasso opened up candidly at the mid-day press conference, expressing his excitement over MSC's imminent growth. "One day you'll be talking to one of the biggest cruise brands," Sasso said. He added that there were options for more ships and that new brand news would be made public by the end of this month.
