Norwegian Cruise Line to Offer New Cruisetours in South AmericaApril 9, 2015 By: Newswire
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the launch of three new South American Cruisetours, beginning November 2015.
These pre- or post-cruise land-based tours are available for guests sailing on Norwegian Sun’s South America itineraries. Ranging in length from three to five days, these experiences are hosted by English-speaking local tour guides and explore Argentina and Chile.
The three-day "Tour & Tango in Buenos Aires" offers an overnight in Buenos Aires in which travelers tour the city, dine in Argentinian restaurants, attend an evening dinner and tango show and round out the trip with a tango lesson from professional dancers.
For an option with an ecological and cultural focus, guests can try the five-day "Buenos Aires & Iguazú Falls Eco-Explorer" Cruisetour. Guests will embark on a three-night excursion through Buenos Aires, and then take a short flight to Iguazú for a two-day eco-tour of the area, including a visit to the Aborigene Guaraní community and more. Travelers will also experience 19th century history at the "Estancia" (ranch) El Rosario de Areco, including a visit with gauchos on horseback, learning about the importance of the Pampas region to Argentina’s culture, a gauchos and horses show and a traditional Argentine barbecue.
The "Easter Island & Santiago Explorer Cruisetour" in Chile is a five-day experience that takes guests on a three-day tour of Easter Island, with a chance to visit the giant moai statues dating back centuries and the ceremonial village of Orongo. Additionally, guests will overnight in Chile’s capital city of Santiago.
Norwegian Sun will cruise through South America from November 21, 2015, through April 9, 2016, sailing alternating Eastbound and Westbound 14-day voyages between Santiago (Valparaiso), Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Sailings include visits to Montevideo, Uruguay, the Falkland Islands, and the Strait of Magellan.
