Record Booking Period Spurs Carnival's Second Sale Event

A record six-week booking period, which included a one-time sales event that produced Carnival Cruise Lines' highest single-day reservations ever, has prompted the company to go forward with another one-day sale on March 22. The period beginning Feb. 5 and ending March 18 netted the company more individual reservations than in any other six-week span before. In addition, March 1 reaped CCL's largest individual reservations ever, which was aided by a one-day sales event. The second sales event will provide upgrades within like categories and starting prices as low as $249 per person for a three-day Bahamian cruise. While pricing softness and flattish demand has hurt Carnival's Caribbean business, a sales event helps to promote the value proposition of a Caribbean cruise.
