Royal Caribbean Gets into Shape

libertyofseas

Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas is stepping up and ridding itself of the notion that cruises are about eating and over indulgence.

David Shields, VP of group sales, has joined forces with fitness and health professionals, Margie Lamir-Heger, P.T. and Dr. Ernest Hackett to promote a high quality health and fitness program on Liberty of the Seas.

While some cruise lines provide fitness services onboard, it tends to be sublimely, less personalized and they charge fees for most of the services offered.

Royal Caribbean’s health and fitness cruise provides free, personalized and professional fitness classes. While aboard, guests will be provided with a complete physical analysis, recommendations to avoid injuries and specific training programs.

Margie Lamir-Heger, P.T., a graduate of Northeastern University, has 22 years of experience in the field of orthopedic and sports physical therapy. She is a directing partner of Physical Therapy and Spine Therapy at the Dedham Health & Athletic Complex. She manages a team of 16 therapists and is a certified Pilates, Group Power/Body Pump, and Yoga instructor.

Dr. Ernest Hackett, a graduate of Northeastern University and of New York College of Chiropractic is a licensed Chiropractic Physician and a registered Physical Therapist. Dr. Hackett trained at the Massachusetts General Hospital and has been involved in sports medicine and rehabilitation with professional athletes from the Boston Bruins, New England Patriots as well as the Boston Ballet Company.
