Royal Caribbean International announced on Monday it is sending one of its ships to Pullmantur, the Madrid-based cruise and tour operator it acquired in November. The 2,020-passengeer Empress of the Seas will join the Pullmantur fleet next year, which will aid in increasing Pullmantur's capacity and demand for the European holiday cruise market, Adam Goldstein, Royal Caribbean International's president said. The ship's last voyage with Royal Caribbean will be on March 7, 2008. A company representative will contact all guests booked on the ship after that date to transfer existing reservations to another ship.
