This Week in Cruise: October 3, 2011

The Safari Endeavour is the newest member of America Safari Cruises' fleet. // (c) 2011 American Safari Cruises.

Last week, Paul Gauguin Cruises acquired its second ship, the MV Moana, which will supplement the M/S Paul Gauguin. The Moana will undergo a renovation scheduled to be finished in November of 2012, and schedules for its 2013 itineraries are to be made available early 2012. The Moana is significantly smaller than the M/S Paul Gauguin, holding only 90 passengers and 45 staterooms. This is a big step for Paul Gauguin Cruises, and the acquisition of its second ship will greatly help the expansion of this luxury line.

Star Clippers released its 2012 Mediterranean and northern Europe sailing brochure Sept. 29. The 81-page brochure includes photos, maps, port descriptions and land tour information on detailed Star Clippers itineraries. The brochure also contains some information on early-reservation packages, so interested parties should look into it.

American Safari Cruises also released a cruise brochure alongside the introduction of the Safari Endeavour to its fleet. The brochure will make its way to travel agents in mid-October, and promotes sailings from Alaska's Glacier Bay to La Paz, Mexico for a diverse set of itineraries.
