Uniworld Releases 'Treasures of Prague' River Cruise

PragueIn April 2011, Uniworld's "Treasures of Prague" will take passengers along the Rhine and Main rivers on an eight-day, seven-night cruise to Prague, the "City of a Hundred Spires." Guided tours will bring guests behind the scenes through the history of European royalty from the Middle Ages to the present.

Traveling from Cologne to Nuremberg aboard the remodeled boutique river cruise, River Ambassador, the itinerary heads to Prague where for two nights at the Art Deco Imperial Hotel, or similar accomodations, with daily breakfast. Onboard, the Epicurean Adventurer food and wine program will accompany all meals with complimentary Europeans wines, plus guests' choice of beer and soft drinks during dinner.

During sight-seeing, seven shore excursions will be fully hosted by English-speaking local guides, and the Uniworld will handle all transfers on arrival and departure days. The journey continues through Nuremberg's Kaiserburg Castle, a piece of Germany during the Middle Ages, before follwing a member of the Princely family through the Scholss Kleinheubach in a private guided tour and partakgin in a wine reception at Lowenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg. At the UNESCO Wurzurg Residenz, passengers will see the largest fresco ceiling in the world before taking in a private wine tasting of Franconian wines in the Residenz cellars.

Once you're in Prague, guests will have a chance to wander through gardens, including the Federal Horticultural show in Koblenz from April through October 2011, the Roman-villa fashioned Pompeiianum, and the Hesperides Gardens from the 18th century.

Cruise-only prices start at $2,599 per person, double occupany. Guests who pay in full by October 31 can save up to $400 per person.
