Variety Cruises Offers Gay Aegan Life Itinerary for Gay and Lesbian Travelers

Variety Cruises has announced the addition of Gay Aegean Life, a new itinerary for gay and lesbian travelers sailing the Greek islands of the Cyclades Aug. 24-31, 2012.

Passengers will sail aboard the newly refurbished 49-passenger Panorama II sail cruiser to Greek ports of call including Santorini, Mykonos and hidden island gems such as Folegandros.

Variety Cruises is a member of IGLTA (International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association). Partial proceeds from the Gay Aegean Life cruise will benefit The Trevor Project, a national organization providing crisis intervention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.

In addition to gay-themed itineraries, Variety Cruises continues to expand its theme and custom group charter offerings in other markets such as weddings, archaeology, history, food & wine and more, including the recently added Yoga Retreat in the Riviera on board the new Mega Yacht Variety Voyager sailing in August 2012.

The daily itinerary is as follows:

Day 1: Marina Zea - Poros - Enjoy a welcome drink and meet the crew and fellow passengers. Sail for Poros for a three-hour visit before setting sail to Poliegos.

Day 2: Poliegos - Folegandros - Take a swim off Poliegos, followed by a BBQ on deck. Sail to Folegandros and tour the Upper City.

Day 3: Santorini - Explore the capital of Fira with an optional excursion to a local winery and tour of the village of Oia.

Day 4: Antiparos - Paros - Enjoy a swim stop in the bay of Antiparos with a later arrival in Paros. Visit Parikia and the village of Naoussa, then enjoy Greek Night on board the ship.

Day 5: Delos (anchorage) Mykonos - Optional tour to the archaeological site of Delos. Later stop for a swim before sailing into Mykonos’ port to overnight and explore the island.

Day 6: Syros - Have a morning swim then arrive in Syros, the capital of the Cycladic islands.

Day 7: Kythnos - Marina Zea, Athens -Arrive in Kythnos to enjoy a swim in Kolones Bay and then sail for Marina Zea via Cape Sounion, the temple of Poseidon.

Day 8: Marina Zea- Disembarkation - Disembarkation after breakfast.

Fares for the Gay Aegean Life cruise start at $1,590 per person, double occupancy and include Greek night, BBQ, captains dinner, and daily American buffet breakfast and one main meal; coffee, water or tea anytime; use of fishing equipment (subject to availability) and a multilingual cruise escort.
