This Week in Cruise - Silversea Offers Partner for Success Sweepstakes

Silversea Cruises' recently launched Partner for Success campaign and sweepstakes gives travel agents a chance to win a new 2014 Mercedes-Benz C250W sedan, while their clients have a chance to win a seven-day Silversea cruise for 2014.

For every Silversea deposited booking that U.S. and Canadian (excluding Québec) travel agents make between April 1 and Dec. 31, 2013 for a 2013 cruise, they will be eligible to enter into a drawing for the car. At the same time, their clients (who are booked with a deposit on a 2013 cruise during that period) will be eligible to enter for a chance to win a free cruise in 2014. Additionally, when agents sell a Silver Suite or higher category they are entered into the drawing twice. No purchase is necessary to enter.

Carnival Cruise Line is also working with travel agents to host the seven-day Skål International World Congress aboard Carnival Glory from Sept. 28 to Oct. 5, 2013. More than 1,200 Skål delegates will board the ship for the organization's first ever World Congress at sea, and shore excursions are planned for Skål members during port calls in Boston; Portland, Maine; Saint John, New Brunswick; and Halifax, Nova Scotia, along with pre- and post-cruise land tours in New York City. Skål International New York was the first chapter in North America and will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary during the Congress.

Holland America Line is helping travel agents expand their reach with the brand by offering multilingual European shore excursions and enhancing hundreds of existing tours to cater to Spanish-, Dutch- and German-speaking travelers. The lines' new tours were developed for European travelers who may be more familiar with these ports, but now multilingual guests looking for something new have the option of booking a less traditional tour offered in their own language. For guests still looking to visit popular landmarks, Foreign language tours are offered when 30 guests who speak a common language are booked on a voyage.
