California Resort and Spa Undergoes $35-Million Renovation

A new lobby, enhanced guest rooms, an Internet marketplace and a new lounge are among the first signs of the transformation underway at Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, CA. This desert resort is undergoing a $35-million renovation by KSL Resorts that also will bring dining, a family pool with water features and outdoor meeting space. The project is expected to be complete later this year. Upgraded guest rooms are furnished with carved dark woods, as well as crown moldings and 42-inch plasma TVs. The rooms' enhanced baths feature slab granite countertops and millwork cabinetry. A select inventory of upgraded rooms is available now, with more coming online every week, and completion slated for November, the resort said. The new R Bar opened its doors in early July, and Las Palmas Boutique and the Palms Café, the resort's Internet café, also were recently unveiled. Call 866-423-1195 or visit [www.rancholaspalmas.com].
