Quark Expeditions Introduces Sea Spirit

The Sea Spirit became a permanent member of Quark Expeditions last week and will return to the Antarctic in November 2011. But before sailing the Drake Passage, the Sea Spirit will depart for the Falkland Islands on a new 9-day itinerary: "Wildlife Cruise through the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas)."

During this new wildlife cruise, our Expedition Team will seek out species, such as the Cobb’s and the Falkland Island Grass Wren, that can only be seen in the wild in Falklands (Malvinas), as well as four species of penguins, seals, dolphins and whales.

The southern Atlantic archipelago consists of a group of islands where wildlife congregate on sandy beaches in intimate bays inaccessible to large luxury vessels. Carrying no more than 112 guests, Sea Spirit can anchor within the bays and quickly transfer quests ashore.

Sea Spirit offers guests a choice of king or twin beds and also has an open bar. All cabins have facilities en suite, exterior views through large windows and refined hotel decor, while some cabins even have balconies. Additionally, a resident photographer will be aboard all Sea Spirit sailings to assist you on deck and ashore. This is an enrichment of our hallmark education program, currently delivered on all vessels in our fleet.
