Vegas Airport Post’s Consistent 12 Month Decline in Passenger Traffic

Sin City continues to come up short in the numbers game. McCarran International Airport reports that, as of February, it has seen a full year of monthly declines in passenger traffic. Clark County Aviation Department has reported a 15.2 percent decrease in travelers in February from 2008's figures. During January and February, combined traffic was off 15.4 percent with 6 million passengers. Southwest Airlines dipped 9.3 percent and US Airways fell 34.5 percent from last year’s figures for February. Six of the 32 active carriers at McCarran showed increases: Allegiant Air, WestJet, Virgin America, Hawaiian, Aeromexico, and Delta Air Lines commuter partner SkyWest.
