Delta Vacations Announces Growth, Expansion in Dominican Republic

Delta Vacations announced that the brand has experienced tremendous growth in the Dominican Republic over the past 24 months as a result of increased access to air seats and significant enhancements to product offerings in the destination.

Today, Delta Vacations passenger counts to the Dominican Republic are 12 times greater than the same time period in 2009, while the number of hotel room-nights sold has increased 15 times during the same time period.

On some routes, such as Minneapolis – St. Paul to Punta Cana, 60 percent of the passengers are Delta Vacations customers.

"In the last year, we have expanded our business in the Caribbean by 32 percent, with an increase in room nights in the Dominican Republic of 82 percent to date,” said Elizabeth Moriarty, vice president of product development for MLT Vacations, in a written release.

Delta Vacations also announced the expansion and addition of three new destination-wedding hotels to the LIFESTYLE Collection including the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana, Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana, and Ocean Blue and Sand, offering both paid and free weddings. Delta Vacations also announced they will be launching a honeymoon program in early May, which will be initially offered at 10 hotels.
