Scenic Safaris to Offer New Snowcoach and Snowmobile Tours in Yellowstone

Scenic Safaris has announced new snowcoach, snowmobile and luxury van tours of Yellowstone for the 2014 to 2015 season.

The itineraries include:

Yellowstone National Park - Snowmobile Tour (Full Day)

Guests on this tour may choose an itinerary including either Old Faithful or the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, with wildlife-spotting, majestic waterfalls and thermal features along the way. Breakfast, lunch and snacks, as well as boots, helmets and snowmobile suits are provided. Driver’s licenses are required for snowmobile drivers and passengers must be age 6 or older. This tour departs from Teton Village, Teton Pines, Spring Creek, Amangani and Jackson between 6 and 7 a.m. and returns between 6 and 7 p.m. Cost: $325 for drivers Dec. 15 – Jan. 4; $295 for drivers Jan. 5 – March 15; $175 for adult riders; $150 for child riders ages 6-12.  Tours run Dec. 15, 2014, through March 15, 2015.

Yellowstone National Park – Snowcoach Tour (Full Day)

This all-day, all-ages tour uses Hagglund snowcoaches, which are designed specifically for Yellowstone. The 12-passenger vehicle offers comfortable seating and large windows and trained guides discuss the park’s geological and historical points of interest. This tour includes stops to view thermal features and other scenic and historic spots. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided. This tour departs between 6 and 7 a.m. from Teton Village, Teton Pines, Spring Creek, Amangani and  Jackson and returns between 6 and 7 p.m. Cost (Dec. 15 – Jan. 4): $325 for adults; $150 for children 6-12; $95 for children under 6. Cost (Jan. 5 – March 15): $275 for adults; $150 for children 6-12; $95 for children under 6. Tours run Dec. 15, 2014, through March 15, 2015.

Gros Ventre Wildlife – Snowmobile Tour (Full Day)

Excellent for wildlife enthusiasts, this tour offers participants a day on a snowmobile and the chance to spot elk, moose, coyote, big horn sheet and bald eagles. This tour includes stops to view thermal features and other scenic and historic spots. Lunch and snacks, as well as boots, helmets and snowmobile suits, balaclava and hand warmers are provided. This tour departs between 7 and 7:30 a.m. from Teton Village, Teton Pines, Spring Creek, Amangani and Jackson and returns between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Cost: $230 for drivers; $130 for adult riders; $110 for child riders ages 6-12 and $50 for children under 6 (children under 6 permitted, but not recommended).  Tours run Dec. 5, 2014, through March 25, 2015.

Togwotee High Mountain – Snowmobile Tour (Full Day)

Guests will start 30 miles north of Jackson and ride the high plateaus and canyons. Guests are encouraged to ride solo on this tour. Lunch at a restaurant and snacks are provided, as are boots, a helmet, one-piece snowmobile suit, gloves, balaclava and hand warmers. This tour departs between 7:30 and 8 a.m. from Teton Village, Teton Pines, Spring Creek, Amangani and Jackson and returns between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Cost: $230 for drivers; $130 for adult riders; $110 for child riders ages 6-12. Children under 6 not permitted.  Drivers must be 14 years of age or older. Tours run Dec. 1, 2014, through Apr. 5, 2015.

Teton Half-Day Tour

Starting at the base of the Grand Tetons, 30 miles north of Jackson, travelers will enjoy views of the Teton Range (weather permitting) on this half-day snowmobile tour. Total tour time is approximately 5.5 hours, with approximately 2 hours spent on the trail. This tour departs between 7 and 7:30 a.m. (morning tour) OR 1 and 1:30 p.m. (afternoon tour) from Teton Village, Teton Pines, Spring Creek, Amangani and Jackson and returns between 12:30 and 1 p.m. (morning) or 6 and 6:30 p.m. (afternoon). Cost: $230 for drivers Dec. 1 through Jan. 4; $205 for drivers Jan. 5 through Apr. 5; $130 for adult riders; $110 for child riders ages 6-12; $50 for children ages 4-5 (no children under 4).  Tours run Dec. 1, 2014, through Apr. 5, 2015.

Grand Teton Wildlife Luxury Van Tour (Half Day)

This all-ages tour includes the National Elk Refuge, traveling along Gros Ventre Road to the warm springs and a stop at the Shane Cabins. Snacks, binoculars and learning materials for children are provided. This tour departs between 7:30 and 8 a.m. (morning tour) OR 1 and 1:30 p.m. (afternoon tour) from Teton Village, Teton Pines, Spring Creek, Amangani and Jackson and returns between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. (morning) or 4:30 and 5 p.m. (afternoon). Cost: $125 for adults; $75 for children 6-12 and $50 for children under 6.
