Estonia has its New Year's resolutions in place: Jump on the Euro bandwagon while celebrating its own native culture. As of January 1, the northern European country will become the latest to adopt the Euro while at the same time entering its 12 months as one of two European Capitals of Culture. The capitals of culture nomination will be part of the largest cultural history event in the history of Estonia, with more than 7,000 separate events planned.
Tallinn will play host to an opening ceremony and music festival, which will kick off on New Year's Eve with fireworks illuminating the Bay of Finland. Theatre Square will make room for cultural kiosks, as well. The city's celebration is open to the public and the energy is expected to pulse through the many bars and restaurants as music is played on a central stage in the square.
