Disney Cruise Line to Offer New Alaska Port Adventures

Disney Cruise Line has released new Port Adventures to Alaska for guests to discover the region’s rich heritage.

The Family Gold Exploration has:
- An encounter with a mining prospector at his camp in the hills where guests will listen to stories around the campfire and leave with tips of the trade and a keepsake from their host
- Exploring the Treadwell Mining District
- Panning for gold and garnets at the Alaska Gastineau Gold Mine

- Journeying with a hard-rock miner into the abandoned mine at the Maggie Kathleen Tunnel to see the equipment used for extracting ore

The Mendenhall Glacier and Mine Ruin Exploration includes:
- An encounter with a mining prospector at his camp in the hills where guests will listen to stories around the campfire and leave with tips of the trade and a keepsake from their host
- Sightseeing in the Mendenhall Valley
- Exploring the mine ruins and trails at Douglas Island’s Treadwell Mining District
