BA Expands to Newquay

January 31, 2007 By: Jennifer Merritt Travel Agent

The carrier on Wednesday announced it would begin flights between London's Gatwick airport and Newquay, England beginning March 20. Newquay, which houses Cornwall and is considered the surfing capital of Britain, is a heavily trafficked destination for both international visitors and England's natives. "There is a growing demand for leisure travel to Cornwall, in part due to the popularity of attractions such as the Eden Project," BA's Commercial Director Robert Boyle said. "This new service will provide easy access to London and the south east for leisure and business travelers. In addition, they will be able to transfer to one of 83 UK, European and long-haul services that we and our franchise partner GB Airways operate from Gatwick." Flights depart London Gatwick daily at 11:50 a.m. and from Newquay at 2:20 p.m. Visit [].
