Second U.S. Carrier Adds Tel Aviv Service

Delta Air Lines on Tuesday announced daily nonstop service between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Tel Aviv, becoming the fifth carrier to operate such service. Currently, Continental Airlines is the only other U.S. carrier with service to Tel Aviv, operating twice daily service from Newark Liberty International Airport. Israeli airlines Israir and El Al Israel also fly between Tel Aviv and major cities in the United States. Delta's service is slated to begin in March 10, 2008. "The addition of Delta's JFK flight means that from next March, as many as 10 flights a day will be operating daily between the United States and Israel," said Arie Sommer, Israel's Tourism Commissioner for North and South America.
