Virgin Atlantic Airways in 2007 will launch daily services between London's Heathrow airport and Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International airport, the carrier announced earlier this week. Service begins June 1, 2007. Flights depart Heathrow at 7:15 p.m. and arrive in Kenya's capital the following morning at 6:05. Return flights depart Nairobi at 8:20 a.m. and arrive in London at 12:55 p.m. "Virgin Atlantic is an airline we have actively pursued for the past few years to begin flights to Kenya and we are overjoyed with their decision to add Nairobi to their route schedule," Madame Rebecca Nabutola, Kenya's permanent secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, said in a statement.
