Le Méridien Bora Bora Begins Second Phase of RenovationsSeptember 28, 2010 By: Jena Tesse Fox
Le Méridien Bora Bora will begin work on the second and final phase of its property-wide renovation on October 1. The latest phase of the $12 million renovation will include new interiors for all beach and overwater bungalows as well as public spaces. A new Ecological Center will also be added for the resort’s Turtle Sanctuary. The resort will be closed from October 1 to January 22, 2011, for the renovation project.
The renovations will be led by interior designer Didier Lefort. The first phase of the renovations, completed in 2009, included the addition of four Pool Beach Villas, an infinity-style swimming pool and an overwater wedding chapel. With the creation of the Pool Beach Villas, the resort produced a new class of accommodations, with each Villa featuring a private infinity swimming pool and terrace overlooking the interior lagoon and the famed Otemanu Mountain.
As Le Méridien Bora Bora moves forward on the latest phase of its renovation, its sister resort, Le Méridien Tahiti, is set to complete its own property-wide renovation in December. Features include a new, modern lobby, including a new espresso bar; new interiors and Polynesian-themed touches for all Lagoon view and Panoramic rooms and suites; and a refreshed La Plantation restaurant and L’Astrolabe bar.
