Tickets Still Available for Oberammergau

January 5, 2010 By: Jena Tesse Fox

Collette Vacations has announced that the month of January will feature a dedicated, company-wide push to sell out the remaining tickets it has secured for the once-a-decade 2010 Oberammergau Passion Play, and has extended its Oberammergau booking offer through the end of February to assist travel agents in closing the sale. The Passion Play is held every 10 years in the picturesque village, and is a major religious and cultural event for the region.

Every 10 years, European inbound tourism sees a huge boost from the staging of the Passion Play in Oberammergau. Oberammergau is located in the Bavarian Alps close to the border with Austria, about 60 miles southwest of Munich. Normally the entire season is sold out far in advance. Nearby European destinations like Austria and Switzerland will welcome close to a million North Americans in a typical year.

Collette offers eight European vacation packages featuring the Passion Play in Oberammergau; including tours highlighting the Austrian cities of Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Vienna and the Swiss resort destinations of Zermatt, Lucerne, and St. Moritz. Travelers can save up to $400 per couple on new retail bookings.
