Grenada Gets a New Yachting Safety Committee

The Grenada Board of Tourism (GBT) announced that Grenada now has a new Yachting Safety Committee. The committee was formed during a recent meeting involving the Minister of Tourism, the Honorable Brenda Hood. Matters discussed included the appointment of two yachting police liaison officers, one in Carriacou and the other in Grenada, the development of a crime prevention leaflet that will be published in the Marine & Yachting Association of Grenada (MAYAG) yachter's directory and uploaded onto the GBT and MAYAG's web sites, the possibility of introducing a 24-hour monitoring VHF frequency in case of emergencies for yachts and the introduction of a crime incident form that caters specifically to crimes committed against yachts.
