HEI Hotels & Resorts announced it acquired the historic 179-room Equinox Resort and Spa in Manchester Village, VT, for an undisclosed amount from Olympus Real Estate Partners. This registered historic landmark and second-longest operating hotel in the U.S.-operations date back to 1769-marks HEI's first resort property and is the eleventh acquisition by the company. The hotel is set on nearly 1,300 acres between the Green and Taconic Mountains, and in addition to the hotel, includes the 1769 Marsh Tavern and the Charles Orvis Inn. Named an AAA Four Diamond hotel for 14 consecutive years, the resort has a 13,000-square-foot spa, several food and beverage outlets, tennis courts and a golf course and clubhouse.
