The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, in northeast Florida, is hosting several holiday events during Christmas and New Year’s Eve for its guests.
The oceanfront resort, featuring one of the top spas in the world, and the award-winning restaurant, Salt, features 444 guest rooms and several other amenities. The highlight of the holiday season at the resort is the unveiling of the S.S. Amelia Gingerbread Pirate Ship, which is featured in a televised event and stands in the lobby until December 28, 2011. Another Ritz-Carlton tradition is Santa’s Storybook Tea, which includes a holiday storybook reading and an afternoon tea. It’s $45 per person, ages five and up, and is featured in the Seaside Room on December 3, 10 and 17 at 12 p.m.
There are several options for dining at the resort during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Café 4750 offers a Christmas Eve Dinner on December 24 from 5:30 p.m. through 9 p.m. The seasonal menu features local seafood and meats and there is also an available a la carte menu of coastal favorites. The Christmas Eve Dinner at Salt is from 6 p.m. through 10 p.m., and features a contemporary American, four-course menu with brioche crusted cod, braised bison short ribs, duck prosciutto and gingerbread soufflé. The price is $95 per adult and $45 per child, ages five through twelve. The Café 4750 Champagne Christmas Brunch is available on December 25 from 12 p.m. through 3 p.m. and features fresh coastal seafood and other selections. It’s $69 per adult and $25 for children, ages three through twelve, plus tax and gratuity. The Christmas dinner in Café 4750, from 5:30 p.m. through 9 p.m., and the Christmas dinner in Salt, from 6 p.m. through 10 p.m., feature the same type of menus from Christmas Eve.
The New Year’s Eve dinner in Café 4750 is on December 31 from 5:30 p.m. through 10 p.m. and is $68 per adult and $28 for children, ages five through twelve, plus tax and gratuity. There are two seating options for New Year’s Eve in Salt. The first seating option is from 6 p.m. through 9 p.m. and is $125 per adult or $170 per adult, including wine. The second seating option is from 9 p.m. through midnight and is $185 per adult or $240 per adult, including wine. This includes a five-course menu, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. There is also a New Year’s Eve Black & White Masquerade Ball in the Ritz-Carlton Grand Ballroom, where black & white attire is encouraged, masks are provided, and you must be 21 or older to attend. The price is $185 per adult. The New Year’s Day Brunch is on January 1, 2012 from 2 p.m. through 3 p.m. and is $49 per person and $15 per child, ages five through twelve. It features a Bloody Mary bar and other breakfast favorites.
