Accor Shakes Up Executive Team

In the wake of Accor's $1.3 billion sale of the Red Roof Inn chain to a consortium, the French hotels group has announced executive office changes in its North America business. Olivier Poirot was named CEO of Motel 6/Studio 6 and Accor North America, replacing Georges Le Mener who is retiring. Poirot previously was Accor North America CFO. Jim Amorosia, Motel 6/Studio 6 COO, has been named president and COO of Motel 6/Studio 6, with expanded day-to-day duties. Additionally, the structure of Accor North America will change: Accor North America's Mexico hotels will now report to Accor Latin America and Sofitel in North America will report to Sofitel worldwide. Overall, the scope of Accor North America will now be primarily on the economy brands.
